As the speeds attainable in primary packaging machines have increased, the need for sorting systems capable of handling high throughputs coming in from upstream, in order to reduce the stress of cyclic stress on downstream machines, has become more and more pressing.
Sorting systems are certainly not new, but their evolution has led to the increasing use of brushless motors instead of pneumatics and also to the search for particularly creative solutions to handle high productivity (over 300 ppm), such as our 'soft touch' system with interrupted ploughshare.
